Roscoe’s Renovation Late in Coming
Cheers and jeers for the paving of Roscoe Boulevard. Cheers for the remarkable improvement of the boulevard where work has been completed. Jeers for the length of time taken and for the paving yet to be completed.
Work on Roscoe should have started a decade ago. However, under deferred maintenance, the deterioration was so thorough, the boulevard was no longer salvageable. Thus, no money was saved by a put-off-till-tomorrow philosophy.
The enormous funds generated by vehicle fees and fuel taxes should have been adequate to pave Roscoe Boulevard a long time ago.
