How cute:

You may recall the Consumer Attorneys Assn. of L.A.--the group that dropped its old name, the L.A. Trial Lawyers Assn., for public relations reasons. Hoping to shore up Nevada’s economy, the band of barristers recently held its convention in Las Vegas. (Maybe Western States Consumer Attorneys Assn. would be more appropriate.) Anyway, one of the more interesting tidbits to come out of the gathering is that the address for the Internet group for “lawyers and legal information technology” is “alt.lawyers.sue.sue.sue.”

Nothing like reinforcing that old stereotype!

Regarding the glove, we don’t want to appear skeptical but we’d have Kovalenok try it on first.

EIGHT LIVES TO GO: Here’s some good news about Katmandu, the homeless feline who was mistakenly described in a Santa Barbara newspaper ad as a “neutered male cat, very pregnant.” Peggy Cooke reports that the Humane Society has found a home for him. It was Cooke who originally came upon Katmandu and phoned in a lost-and-found ad describing the bulky creature as pregnant. When a vet determined that Katmandu was just a lazy male, Cooke called in a correction on the ad, but the newspaper forgot to take out the “very pregnant” part. Katmandu is undoubtedly willing to overlook the insult--as long as he’s fed.
