Allergan Inc.: The Irvine health-care company said that net earnings for the third quarter climbed 13%, to $34.2 million, or 53 cents a share, from $30.2 million, or 47 cents a share, for the same period in 1994. Sales also increased 13%, to $273.6 million from $242.2 million.

The company’s “successful integration of recent acquisitions contributed to third-quarter growth,” said William C. Shepherd, Allergan’s president and chief executive.

Profit for the nine-month period declined 57%, to $32.9 million, or 51 cents a share, from $75.9 million, or $1.19 a share, for the first three quarters of 1994. Allergan said that during the 1995 second quarter, it contributed $50 million to Allergan-Ligand Retinoid Therapeutics Inc. Sales were up 13%, to $764.1 million from $677 million.
