Rainbow Technologies Inc.: The Irvine provider of software protection products and cryptographic technology posted a 47% gain in net income for the third quarter--$2.5 million, or 32 cents a share, compared with $1.7 million, or 22 cents a share, for the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue increased 24%, to $15.8 million from $12.7 million. Profit for the nine-month period rose 41%, to $6.9 million, or 89 cents a share, from $4.9 million, or 66 cents a share, for the first three quarters of 1994. Revenue was up 21%, to $48.2 million from $39.9 million.
