Coming to Roast

If making Thanksgiving dinner for 20 of your favorite relatives isn’t your ideal way to spend the holiday, then the Wolf electric wall oven is your meal ticket to happiness.

This convection oven offers the power and space to let you cook the turkey, the trimmings and the pie all at the same time in a third to a half of the regular time. Instead of getting up at the crack of dawn to prepare the bird for an all-day roast, sleep in and still enjoy your repast by halftime.

The oven--which has 4 cubic feet of interior space, 6,000 watts of power and 10 rack positions--can be programmed up to 24 hours in advance. It preheats in less than seven minutes and requires no outside vent. It’s compact enough to fit into a 30-inch cabinet or directly into a kitchen wall and costs about $4,700.

Modeled after the company’s commercial version, the home unit also features a double-paned, cool-to-touch window so the kids can watch the cookies bake without getting their fingers burned.

Window Dressing

If you know your way around a sewing machine, then affordable couture window treatments are just a stitch away.

The McCall pattern company and Prym-Dritz Corp., maker of cast-iron and brass-look rods, have introduced Home Dec In a Sec, featuring four window treatments using the decorative hardware.

Pattern #7869 includes a variety of valances, which can be paired with other curtains and dressed with fringe and trims.

For Roman shades and other drapery effects, McCall’s has introduced #7937 and #7938, highlighting the work of designer Trenia Bell-Will, whose workshop designs and creates window treatments, slipcovers and bed coverings. She is known for detail work such as huge bows for tiebacks, shirred headers, swags and jabots.

Whether it’s tea or coffee for two, Faberge’s Te^te a Te^te beverage set brings turn-of-the-century elegance and style to any table.

Inspired by the original designs of Peter Carl Faberge for the Russian Imperial Court, the set ($950)--which includes a large tray, pot, two cups and creamer and sugar--is made of Limoges porcelain, accented with 18-karat gold.
