THOUSAND OAKS : Events Planned for Adults 50 and Older

Thousand Oaks adults age 50 and over can waltz the night away at ballroom dances, bicycle with the rising sun, visit the Crystal Cathedral or reserve seats for the Rose Parade through the Goebel Senior Adult Center.

The events are among several planned in coming months at the center. Most include a fee and are open to all area adults of qualifying age.

The center also holds ballroom dances twice a month, with the next one scheduled today at 7:30 p.m. with the Starlighters playing dance music. Cost is $6.

Ornithologist Elliot McClure holds a lecture at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 27 called “Insects: Little People of the Forest” at the Goebel Center.

Regular bicycle rides are Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays beginning at 7:30 a.m. and leaving from Coco’s restaurant at 2809 Agoura Road, Westlake Village. Helmuts are required.

On Dec. 7, the center plans a trip to see the Nativity Pageant at Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove. Cost for transportation, dinner and pageant is $68 per person.

Registration is now open for the Rose Parade trip, where participants will watch from grandstand seats. Cost is $63 per person.
