Micom’s 2nd-Quarter Earnings Decline

Micom Communications Corp., a Simi Valley maker of computer networking products, saw its fiscal second-quarter earnings decline as the company continued to shift to a lower-end product mix.

In the three months ended Sept. 30, Micom earned $1.64 million, down 26% from $2.22 million in net income a year before. Its quarterly revenue slipped 2%, to $23.1 million from $23.5 million.

For the latest six-month period, the company’s profit fell 31%, to $3.02 million from $4.35 million a year earlier. Its revenues were $46 million, compared to $46.5 million in the first half of the previous fiscal year.
