Times, La Opinion Launch Paper: The Los Angeles Times and La Opinion today launched a new weekly Spanish-language newspaper called La Opinion para ti. The paper focuses on family, community and lifestyle issues and will be delivered free to 200,000 targeted households in Los Angeles and Orange counties. La Opinion--50% owned by Times Mirror Co., also parent of The Times--is responsible for the weekly’s editorial content, design and production. The Times is overseeing distribution. Advertising will be sold by the staffs of La Opinion and The Times. In addition to the joint venture, the two newspapers have formed a marketing alliance that allows classified and display advertisers to buy space in any or all three of the newspapers.
