Jury Convicts Man for Killing Park Wolf

Associated Press

A jury rejected a man’s claim that he shot to death a wolf that had been transplanted to Yellowstone National Park because he thought it was a wild dog.

Chad McKittrick was found guilty Wednesday on three misdemeanor counts--killing the wolf, possessing it and transporting it. He could face up to two years in prison and fines totaling $150,000.

The male gray wolf was part of an experimental program to reintroduce wolves into Yellowstone.
