Westside : VAN GO
Senior citizens in the Fairfax district will be able to go shopping and attend medical appointments with a new van shuttle program that will provide door-to-door service for physically and mentally frail seniors.
The vans will be operated through the Freda Mohr Multiservice Center and will serve an area with the largest concentration of people 75 and older in the nation, said center Director Sally Edelist.
Residents who are unable to use other forms of public transit can use the vans, she said. The program is funded by the city Departments of Transportation and Aging.
