Derek Sparks’ injury-plagued college football career has ended as the result of a knee injury the senior running back suffered in Washington State’s game against Arizona, Washington Coach Mike Price said.

Kentucky Coach Bill Curry could be in trouble with the NCAA because of his comments to a reporter about a high school quarterback.
A story by Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Diane Pucin quotes Curry as saying: “Tim Couch is the best high school prospect I’ve ever seen.”
Couch is considered by many recruiting experts to be the nation’s top quarterback prospect.
The NCAA prohibits coaches from talking about high school prospects because of possible recruiting advantages.

Saying it wanted to send a message to players about dealing with agents, the NCAA upheld the four-game suspension of Texas Christian running back Andre Davis for accepting benefits from an agent through his former roommate.
