VENTURA : Scholarship Benefit Offers Latin Dance

The nights may be getting cooler, but this evening will heat up with the hot Latin sounds of salsa, swing and more at “A Latin Dance Party,” sponsored by Ventura’s Cultural Affairs Office.

The event is a benefit for the Cultural Arts Youth Scholarship Fund, which last year helped more than 80 disadvantaged children attend after-school arts classes.

The Latin Beat will play tonight and a dance instructor will offer pointers on the fox trot, tango, cha-cha and others.

The event is scheduled from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Barranca Vista Center, 7050 Ralston St. Admission is $5 at the door.
