School Could Have Found Russian Speaker
* Regarding “Applied Linguistics,” Oct. 29:
Didn’t you think it somewhat strange that a non-English-speaking Russian-speaking student at Reseda High School was being tested on his first day of school by a 19-year-old teacher’s assistant whose first language was Spanish?
If the administration at Reseda High School tried even a little bit, it could find a fluent Russian / English-speaking adult who could administer the tests and obtain valid results.
