CHANNEL ISLANDS : Parade of Lights Picks Grand Marshal

Share

James Donlon of Port Hueneme has been named grand marshal of the 1995 Channel Islands Parade of Lights in honor of his contributions to the development of the harbor.

Donlon, who will lead the parade with his wife, Arti, established the first Saltwater Enhancement Program to raise salmon and white sea bass for release almost 30 years ago.

“I think it’s quite an honor,” Donlon said. “I’m looking at nothing more than a delightful evening, catching up with old friends and hopefully making some new ones.”

Using the 52-foot Hatteras Sportfisher “Terrible Terri,” the Donlons will lead a trail of more than 40 boats. The Terrible Terri docks in Channel Islands Harbor and is owned by Joe and Terri Zaccaro of Mandalay Bay.

The Donlons will also congratulate the award winners in all categories, including the “People’s Choice” category, at the ceremony at Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club.

The parade, which begins at 7 p.m. on Dec. 9, is free and can be viewed from many areas along the harbor. For more information, call 985-4852.
