Crash Closes Freeway; 2 on Motorcycle Hurt
At least two people were injured in a seven-vehicle accident Sunday night that briefly closed the northbound San Diego Freeway south of Avalon Boulevard in Carson, authorities said.
Two of the injured, who were together on a motorcycle, were at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in stable condition with broken bones, said nursing supervisor Susan Davidson.
All four lanes were closed after the 7:20 p.m. accident and were reopened about an hour later, said California Highway Patrol spokesman Bruce Ferrier. He characterized the scene as “a mess . . . because the accident involved seven vehicles,” but did not know what caused the pileup.
