Microsoft Plans Internet Products: Chairman Bill Gates said the Redmond, Wash.-based software giant plans a full line of products to capitalize on the explosive growth of the Internet and to allow companies to use the same technology to build internal communications networks. “It’s certainly a space where we will be one of the companies making a contribution,” Gates said at the annual Comdex computer trade show in Las Vegas. He also dismissed suggestions that the personal computer could be eclipsed by a cheaper device specifically designed to access the Internet.
