Central Los Angeles : REGARDING THE REBATE

Gov. Pete Wilson should not convert a recently discovered tax windfall into a rebate, but should apply the money to the state’s schools and transportation infrastructure, Assemblyman Louis Caldera (D-Los Angeles) told a Boyle Heights group Wednesday night.

“We have many things that are more important than cutting taxes,” Caldera told a gathering of about 25 residents at a forum sponsored by the Mothers of East Los Angeles. “But the governor is going to want to cut taxes anyway. So we’ll probably have one of those sessions in which nothing gets done.”
