This year’s Thanksgiving dinner will cost 4.4% more than last year’s, according to the annual American Farm Bureau Federation survey, released Friday.

The average cost for a 16-pound turkey, the cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and all the other trimmings is $29.64, or $1.24 more than last year, the trade group said.

Higher retail turkey prices account for more than half the increase. A 16-pounder averages $12.68 this year, or 79.25 cents a pound, up 67 cents from last year.
