THOUSAND OAKS : Rules Proposed for Oversized Vehicles

Share

Borrowing from an Agoura Hills ordinance, the Thousand Oaks City Council will consider restricting oversized vehicle parking on residential streets at its meeting Tuesday night.

City officials have received many complaints about RVs and trailers parked in front of homes longer than the 72-hour period allowed under current city code.

At a recent Town Hall meeting, one woman came armed with photos of her neighbor’s RV, which she said restricts her visibility because it is parked near a corner.

The Agoura Hills ordinance restricts oversized vehicle parking between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on residential streets. The city considers any vehicle longer than 20 feet or wider than 80 inches to be oversized.

The council will vote on whether a similar ordinance should be drafted for Thousand Oaks at Tuesday’s meeting.
