Car Hits and Critically Hurts Girl, 5
A car hit the wall of a parking lot Friday afternoon, tumbling it onto a passing 5-year-old girl, who was critically injured, authorities said.
The girl was walking through a parking lot about 3:20 p.m. in the 14100 block of Van Nuys Boulevard in Arleta when the car hit the wall, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
The girl suffered massive head trauma and was airlifted to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, Humphrey said. A hospital spokesman said the girl was in the intensive care unit late Friday.
No information on the girl’s identity, or on the car driver, was immediately available.
