OXNARD : Police Screen 629 Drivers at Checkpoint

Oxnard police arrested one driver on suspicion of drunk driving, cited 17 for license violations and towed the cars of 10 others in its latest sobriety checkpoint.
Drivers whose cars were towed were cited for license violations or driving without a license.
Of 878 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint in the westbound lanes of Gonzales Road at Oxnard Boulevard on Friday evening, 629 were screened and eight sobriety tests were administered to drivers suspected of driving while intoxicated, officials said.
The next sobriety checkpoint will occur Dec. 1 at a still-undetermined location.
