Westside : WESTSIDE FOOTBALL

Share

Forget carwashes, bake sales and raffles--a group of Westside youth football players has discovered that getting into the Hollywood scene is the way to make money for a team trip to Las Vegas.

Since September, the Westside Bruins--actually, the so-called Gremlin Division of the Bruins that includes 8-, 9- and 10-year-olds--has appeared in the yet-to-open movie “Multiplicity,” starring Michael Keaton. The group also has starred in a Jack-in-the-Box commercial, scheduled to air in December, and some members of the football team were part of a National Beef Council commercial last February.

The entertainment gigs have helped the youngsters raise money to compete in a football championship in Las Vegas. The entire team, which consists of players from Malibu to Inglewood, leaves today for the big game.

Some players earned as much as $600 and Jack in the Box donated more than $500 to the Bruins team, Mills said.
