The 50-year-old president of an educational fund-raising group entered a not-guilty plea Tuesday in Burbank Municipal Court on two felony charges of having sex with a 16-year-old Burbank High football player.

Sally Dumm was arraigned before Municipal Judge Alan Kalkin. She is accused of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor by a lewd act.

Dumm has been the president of the Burbank Educational Foundation, a private fund-raising auxiliary of the Burbank Unified School District, since July, the same month during which the alleged incident took place.

She was arrested Saturday, Burbank police said. She was released after Tuesday’s arraignment, having posted a $30,000 bond.

Reached at home by telephone, Dumm declined comment. She was not represented by an attorney during her plea, according to court records.

Dumm’s alleged encounter with the football player took place July 14 at Dumm’s residence in Burbank, Deputy District Attorney Lisa Abbott-Sigmund said. Authorities are protecting the identity of the boy because he is a minor.

David Aponik, superintendent of the Burbank school district, said he was told by police late last week that Dumm was being investigated. He declined further comment.

Dumm is in her third year with the foundation, said Tomme Lenz, founder of the fund-raising group.
