Baxter Healthcare to Buy Psicor: The Deerfield, Ill.-based company said that it has agreed to buy Psicor Inc. for $17.50 a share, or about $80 million. The San Diego-based Psicor provides cardiovascular equipment and services to hospitals. The companies said the agreement includes the stipulation that Psicor sell its office labs unit. Psicor shares rose $2 to close at $17.25 on Nasdaq. Baxter said that it expects the acquisition to close “within the next several weeks.” Baxter Healthcare is the principal U.S. operating unit of Baxter International Inc., a health-care products and services concern.
