15-Month-Old Boy Killed After Falling Out of Window

A 15-month-old Long Beach boy was killed Friday after he fell out a window of his family’s apartment and was impaled on the security bars of a unit below, authorities said.
Cesar Barragan died shortly after he was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
Barragan crawled onto a sofa Friday morning, fell through a screen and out the window. He was impaled through the chest with a metal security bar.
The child’s mother was in the apartment at the time. Police described the fall as accidental.
