USC Beats UCI in Water Polo

Hrvoje Cizmic scored three goals as USC beat UC Irvine, 9-8, in the third-place game in the Mountain Sports Federation water-polo tournament Sunday at Newport Harbor High.
UC Irvine led, 4-2, at the half but was shutout in the third quarter as USC scored four times to take a 6-4 lead.
Ofer Horn had three goals and Jean Michel two for UC Irvine.
California beat top-seeded UCLA, 9-6, in the title game to earn the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA final four tournament.
