The Encino Chamber of Commerce Thursday will honor nine people for excellent performance of their public-service jobs.

The Community Service Awards Luncheon, in its third year, pays tribute to public-safety personnel and Encino postal employees who have been nominated by their supervisors for work above and beyond the call of duty.

“Their dedication and commitment is what makes this a great place to live,” said Jan Sobel, executive director of the chamber. “We want to take a few moments to thank them for everything they give all of us.”
