Harassment Suit

* In “Guard Awarded $150,000 in Sex Harassment Suit” (Nov. 18), it was mentioned that one of the alleged incidents took place in September, 1992, while Julia Williams “was guarding the museum director’s home.”
My curiosity prompts me to ask how the expenses for such “guard duty” on the director’s home were paid. I trust this may have been a one-time, properly authorized event where valuable artifacts were “temporarily” stored in the director’s home and that the guard service was paid for by the director. I would hate to think that the taxpayers were footing the bill for such protection on an ongoing basis.
Perhaps someone on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors may be able to offer some enlightenment.
