City Accepting Bids on Sewer Project
The city of Port Hueneme is accepting bids for improvements to a sewer lift station in order to eliminate foul odors and give the area a face lift.
The “C” sewer lift station, at Channel Islands Boulevard and Victoria Avenue, is the largest neighborhood pump station receiving waste water from the beach area.
The budget for equipment and construction of the project--scheduled to begin in early March--is $250,000. The project will include enlarging the wet well to increase capacity, installing an emergency generator, odor control and landscape improvements.
Businesses and residents will be given 48 hours notice before major construction activities that might disrupt traffic begin, city officials said.
