THOUSAND OAKS : Brownies Decorate ‘Gift-Giving Tree’

A local Brownie Scout troop Thursday will kick off an effort to provide Christmas presents to needy children in the Conejo Valley.
Starting at 3 p.m., Troop 273 from Santa Rosa Elementary School will help decorate a “giving tree” at the Great Western Savings Bank at 3960 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.
The tree will be filled with gift tags made by the Brownies. Area residents are asked to remove a tag from the tree, buy and wrap an appropriate holiday gift and return the gift to the bank.
On Dec. 21, the Brownies will deliver the presents to a local charity, Manna, for distribution to underprivileged children.
