LINCOLN, Neb. —
Forwards Bryan Hill and Wil Weir scored 19 points each as Pepperdine used a 19-4 run early in the second half Saturday to defeat Georgia Southern, 69-59, in the consolation game of the Ameritas Classic.
Hill carried Pepperdine (2-2) in the first half, scoring 13 of the Waves’ first 22 points.
After Georgia Southern (0-3) cut the Pepperdine lead to 40-39, Weir led the game-clinching Pepperdine spurt with a fury of inside scoring moves and dunks.
