Another Chapman Report: This one is about money. Chapman University economists James Doti and Esmael Adibi present the private university’s 18th annual Orange County Economic Forecast at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Chapman Auditorium on the campus in Orange. Doti, who started the computerized forecasting project in 1977, has since ascended the academic ranks and now sits in the president’s chair. He will discuss the university’s widely followed and highly detailed one-year forecast on where the county’s economy is headed. Adibi, director of the Chapman Center for Economic Research, will present a broader, five-year outlook. The Chapman forecast is expected to echo other recently published regional and local reports that see 1996 as a better year for the county, with measurable improvements in employment, personal income, construction and retail sales.
