Mexico to Cut Highway Tolls: The Mexican government and owners of toll roads agreed to cut tolls an average of 60% on 28 highways to boost use of the roadways. The lower tolls become effective Dec. 15 and will apply to trucks hauling cargo and buses. Passenger cars will continue to pay the current tolls. Tolls will be cut on 19 roads; on others, companies will be allowed to deduct 40% of the tolls paid from their incomes. Five other roads will offer discounts and four will offer tax incentives.
