Dodgers Made Moves, but They’re Not Enough
So the Dodgers have rebuilt the left side of their infield by obtaining Mike Blowers and Greg Gagne. Are these the missing pieces to a championship season? I doubt it.
This appears to be a case of making moves for the sake of making moves. Blowers and Gagne do address the needs at third and short but do not improve the team other than a little bit defensively. Are championships won with a .258-hitting third baseman coming off his best year or a .254-hitting shortstop? We might be able to sacrifice one batting spot for a defensive specialist but not two.
