Residents’ Apathy
* Re: “Donor Call Issued to Avert Blood Shortage,” Dec. 5. The article states that the residents of Orange County have a much lower than average blood donation record, 1% or 2%, opposed to the national average of 3% to 4%. I wonder if the same explanation holds for the blood donations that explains the lack of private charity donations. Unfortunately, the majority of people in Orange County just don’t care--how sad.
