More Taxpayers to Receive IRS Postcards: The agency is expanding a program designed to save printing and distribution costs, a spokesman said. This year, 33 million taxpayers who used a professional preparer last year will get postcards with mailing labels and instructions to take the labels to their preparers. Most paid preparers use their own forms and throw out their clients’. The agency sent postcards to 22 million filers last year.
