Nation IN BRIEF : OREGON : Suspect in Slaying of Lesbians Identified
Investigators identified a suspect in the slaying of two lesbian activists who were found bound and shot in the back of their pickup last week. An aggravated-murder warrant was issued for Robert James Acremant, 27, who was being sought in California. A telephone tip put detectives on Acremant’s trail in the San Joaquin Valley, said Medford, Ore., Police Chief Ray Shipley. The chief refused to discuss the evidence in the case or a motive for the slayings of Roxanne Ellis, 53, and Michelle Abdill, 42. Ellis and Abdill, who lived and worked together.
