Update / Follow-up on the news : YORBA LINDA : Gullixson Succeeds Welch on Split Vote
John M. Gullixson was elected mayor on a split vote by his colleagues. Councilwoman Barbara Kiley will be mayor pro tem.
Gullixson, elected on a 3-2 vote last week, succeeds Daniel T. Welch.
A 47-year-old lawyer, Gullixson has served on the council since 1990. As mayor, he said he hopes to complete many of the city parks and housing projects stalled by the county’s bankruptcy.
