Van Nuys : Parking Lot Sale at Salvation Army

Share

With just nine shopping days left before Christmas, the Salvation Army will hold a daylong parking lot sale today at its Van Nuys site.

Scheduled to last from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 6059 Van Nuys Blvd., the sale will feature hundreds of new and used items, including shoes, clothing, housewares, tools and toys. Spokeswoman Leslie-Anne Quinn said that most items will cost between $2 and $25.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center, an 85-bed drug and alcohol treatment program, Quinn said.

Also on hand today will be Santa Claus, who’ll pose for photos and give away candy to children. Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Division will accept donations for a toy drive to benefit needy children in the area.

And unlike many crowded malls this time of year, Quinn promises that one of the most common shopping-related hassles won’t be a problem. “There’s going to be plenty of parking,” she said.
