The Matadors, playing their only home game between Dec. 5 and Jan. 2, will try to end a three-game losing streak. Northridge will be without center Kevin Taylor (sore right knee) until after Christmas. Leading scorer Damion Morbley (19 points per game) will be back in the starting lineup after coming off the bench in three games. The Golden Eagles are clearly improved from last year’s 4-22 team. They beat Wisconsin Milwaukee, 74-72, on Thursday night, despite trailing by eight with 2:08 to play. Northeastern Illinois’ player to watch is 6-foot-3 guard Andrell Hoard, the 1993-94 junior college national scoring leader. Hoard averages 25.8 points.
