Simi OKs Raises for Manager, Attorney
Simi Valley’s city manager and city attorney have each been granted 2% raises to their six-figure salaries.
The City Council voted 5 to 0 Monday to give the raises to City Manager Mike Sedell and City Atty. John Torrance, including a 0.96% cost-of-living increase for each official.
Sedell, who was appointed in June, earns a $9,000-a-month salary, but coupled with benefits, insurance and car costs, his package is worth $144,852 a year. His raise brings his yearly compensation package to $147,012.
Torrance earns a monthly salary of $9,334, which, added to insurance, car costs and other benefits, amounts to $148,152 a year. That climbs to $150,392 a year with the 2% raise.
