Vans Inc.: The Orange-based shoe manufacturer posted net income of $1.3 million, or 13 cents a share, for the second fiscal quarter, up from the $496,000, or 5 cents a share, for the prior year. Sales for the quarter ended Nov. 25 were up 43% to $29.1 million from $20.3 million. For the first six months, net income increased 21% to $1.7 million, or 17 cents a share, from $1.4 million, or 14 cents a share, a year ago. Sales increased 38% to $57.5 million from $41.7 million.
