COLLEGE FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : ROSE BOWL : Hope Northwestern Has Plenty of Film

Share

Northwestern has the day off today for Christmas, but starting Tuesday the Wildcats will become serious tourists when they’re not working out at Citrus College.

Tuesday night it’s fatten up time at Lawry’s Beef Bowl in Beverly Hills. Wednesday they will spend the afternoon at Disneyland, followed by Universal Studios on Thursday, where alum Charlton Heston will be waiting to show them how Moses parted the Red Sea.

On Friday, Coach Gary Barnett and some of the team will visit the City of Hope in Duarte, with another group participating in a Clinic for Kids at the Rose Bowl on Saturday morning before the annual Kiwanis Kickoff Luncheon at Pasadena Center.

After all that, there’s nothing left until they take on the Trojans on New Year’s Day.

Former teammates from Damien High in La Verne will face each other when USC has the ball.

Casey Dailey will be at right end defensively for Northwestern, while Jonathan Himebauch is the Trojans’ backup center. If they don’t meet before, they will when (and if) USC tries a field goal or extra point.

“He’ll be coming from the right and I’ll be protecting on that side,” Himebauch said. “I’m looking forward to it.”

The Wildcats will wear black patches, with the words ‘Big Six’ on their jerseys to honor Marcel Price, a redshirt freshman defensive back who was accidentally killed last summer while in his native Nashville, Tenn.
