Panorama City : Man Gets 10 Years for Role in Drug Ring
A 22-year-old Panorama City man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison Tuesday for his role in a multimillion-dollar methamphetamine ring that operated in the eastern San Fernando Valley, authorities said.
Noel Quintero-Ruiz pleaded guilty to narcotics charges earlier this year, after being arrested with five other men in the parking lot of a Burbank restaurant, where they planned to sell undercover federal agents enough methamphetamines to keep one person high continuously for 256 years, authorities said.
The sentence was imposed by U.S. District Court Judge Dickran Tevrizian. It was the minimum Quintero-Ruiz, who cooperated with prosecutors, faced for his crimes, Assistant U.S. Atty. Anthony Pacheco said.
Quintero-Ruiz and Jose Sigala-Loma were the kingpins of the group, Pacheco said.
