THOUSAND OAKS : Condo Group Settles Construction Lawsuit

The Camelot Condominiums Homeowners Assn. in Thousand Oaks has been awarded $1 million from developer Wilma Pacific Inc. as a partial settlement of a construction defect lawsuit.
Thursday’s settlement also awards the homeowners group all of Wilma Pacific’s rights against numerous subcontractors who worked on the 180-unit project, said Michael D. Dicks, one of the Grady Law Firm’s lawyers who represented the association.
The condos were constructed in 1984, and the lawsuit was filed in 1994 against Wilma Pacific, which had gone out of business by then.
The condominiums have deteriorating balconies, stairs and landings as well as roof and window leaks, said Christopher Coglianese, one of the association’s lawyers.
The property owners will use the award to repair the problems, lawyers said.
