No Time, Just Money Wasted in Zakarian Trial

Share

Here we go again! Another outrageous verdict has been reached in a murder trial (“Man Acquitted in Killing,” Dec. 22). The jury in the trial of Glendale travel agent Garen Zakarian, apparently anxious to get home for Christmas, disregarded overwhelming evidence against this man and freed him so they could go shopping! Aside from the stack of evidence against him, didn’t the fact matter that when his sister (and alleged accomplice) was erroneously released from jail she fled the country rather than join the defense team of her “innocent” brother? No wonder people are disillusioned with our criminal justice system and disturbed by the fact that hundreds of thousands (and sometimes millions) of taxpayers’ dollars are wasted when verdicts like this are reached. Do the initials O.J. come to mind?
