Jack B. Daniels, 92, actor and a director of industrial films. A native of Los Angeles, Daniels made his debut on Broadway in 1924 in “Backslapper” and toured to critical acclaim for many years in plays that ranged to Shakespeare. If the theatrical pay fell short, he supplemented his income by working as a soda jerk, bartender, presser and waiter. He later became a stage manager and a dialogue director and then spent 18 years directing industrial films and TV commercials, touting himself as “the fastest director in town.” As a nonagenarian widower, Daniels again donned greasepaint and acted with the Beverly Hills Senior Players until his death. On Dec. 28 in Beverly Hills of lung cancer.
