From Times Wire Reports

Forensic tests found alcohol in the remains of the captain of a plane that crashed in Colombia last month, killing 160 people, American Airlines said. It was unclear whether the captain had consumed the alcohol or whether it was the result of “chemical processes following death by blunt trauma,” an airline official said. Colombian officials conducted the forensic tests, and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration plans to follow up with its own tests. The plane was heading from Miami to Cali on Dec. 20 when it veered off course and crashed into a mountainside.
