Ingram Micro Names New Senior Vice President

* Phil Ellett joins Ingram Micro Inc. as senior vice president/general manager of the Consumer Markets division. Before joining the Santa Ana distributor of microcomputer products, Ellett served as president and chief executive of Gates/F.A. Distributing in Greenville, S.C., where he negotiated the sale of the company to Arrow Electronics in 1994. Before that, he was the vice president of sales for Iomega Corp., a manufacturer of disk drives and removable magnetic media.

* Michael Pastore has been named assistant vice president, general manager of Crown Books’ West Coast regional office in Garden Grove, which oversees the operations of 100 bookstores from San Diego to Seattle. He also has held positions with Circuit City, Federated Department Stores and Lafayette Electronics, and he has operated his own mail-based retail establishment.

* John A. Zimmer becomes director of the CT Business unit of Tustin-based Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc., which sells and distributes diagnostic imaging systems. He will oversee marketing and sales support activities for Toshiba’s CT business in the United States. Zimmer, who has more than 20 years’ marketing and sales management experience, had been a manager with General Electric Medical Systems in Milwaukee.

* Ronald E. Rolwes has been named a partner with the Irvine accounting firm Conrad & Associates. He joined the firm in 1987.

* Maurice J. DeWald, chairman and chief executive officer of Irvine-based Verity Financial Group, has been elected to the board of ARV Assisted Living Inc. of Costa Mesa. DeWald founded Verity in 1992. Previously, he was a managing partner and a director of KPMG Peat Marwick.

* Wendi Wright has been named art director of Mailing & Marketing Inc., a direct mail marketing firm in Orange. Previously, he was assistant creative director for Joy Art in Anaheim.

* Dan Skahill becomes manager of participant marketing for Disneyland. Before joining the Anaheim theme park, he was western states regional marketing manager for Valvoline Oil Co.

* Jeffrey W. Lyall has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of R.W. Lyall and Co. Inc., a Corona distributor of gas products founded 25 years ago by his father, Robert W. Lyall. Jeffrey Lyall had been vice president/general manager of the company. Robert Lyall remains chairman and chief executive.
