Printronix 3rd-Quarter Profit Down 56%

Printronix Inc., a manufacturer of computer printers, reported third-quarter net income of $830,000, or 15 cents a share, down 56% from the year-earlier figure of $1.9 million, or 35 cents a share. Sales for the quarter ended Dec. 29 declined 1% to $37.1 million from $37.6 million. For the first nine months, the company posted net income of $5.4 million, or 99 cents a share, 13% higher than the $4.8 million, or 90 cents a share, recorded for the like period last year. Sales rose 13% to $118.8 million from $105.4 million.
